Hopworks had previously produced a stronger, Belgian-style golden ale called Diablo. Diablito is apparently of similar design but with less alcohol. It is served in a tulip glass that transforms its polished yellow-gold body into a liquid magnifying lens. A thin crater of white bubbles forms temporarily at the rim. A light, peppery aroma wafts upwards and disperses.
The taste is somewhat constrained though targeted, with an understated measure of honeydew and a genteel panoply of white peppercorn and spice. All the elements come into play nicely with a nod towards traditional styling.
