Bottle from Boise Co-op. Dark, clear golden with a tight creamy head. Aroma features light caramel. Taste adds some orange peel to gentle hoppy notes, piney, resinous. Mouth coating.

A beautiful beer. Somewhat clouded light orange body with a creamy and frothy looking barely off-white foam. Good retention and lacing.
Very interesting aroma of what I can only pull out of my head to resemble passion fruit and cactus fruit (tunas). Other than, it's actually quite a tame or restrained experience.
The flavor is very much in line with the passion fruit mentioned above. Sweetened grapefruit juice comes to mind as well.
If anything, the King is sweet, despite the lightly treading bitterness long after sips. The 7.8% is noticeable in warming the chest, but seems appropriate. It's pretty sappy with a medium feel, and smooth carbonation.
A unique IIPA, but I'm having a hard time deciding if I love it or hate it. Weird.
Cheers.
