This is the kind of red ale you could easily identify with your eyes closed - not a blushing IPA or an amber with lipstick. As I understand it, Original Red is the original version of Hopworks' Organic Red. The two may even be the same. There's certainly nothing wrong with this beer that might want to be modified into a new recipe. It is immediately fruity with a strawberry-cherry nose and abundant juicyfruit flavor punctuated by a sharp smack of bittering - very well targeted.

Hopworks serves this ale with a full finger of head that trails jubilant lace. Its color is deep, sensuous mahogany.

Maybe they named Original Red after me. Naw... prob'ly not. But it does fulfill all expectations for the style. The beer stands tall and walks with a swagger.
