El Dorado hops blend with Munich and Carapils malts, sprouting into a delightful Kettle Sour that’s bristling with ruby red prickly pears.

Pours a pinkish/red color with minimal head. Aroma is mild fruitiness and slightly sour. I'm not really into sours but this one is really decent. Light and refreshing with lemon and prickly pear. Nice tart finish. Rated 6-26-2023

neat beer, great name, so much prickly pear in beer lately, but this is cool because its also kind of malty, the sourness is piquant but clean, and there is a lot going on for a kettle sour, well above average here. a little pink color to this from the fruit, light haze, but also a crystal malt richer fuller color to it, not that pale, fizzy and short white headed from the tap, although the can art is also cool. the nose on this is tangy, lemon and lime to me, minerals, clean puckery bacterial sourness, and lightly toasted grain, even a little sweetness there. the flavor is floral and slightly perfume-esque from the prickly pear, its natural but also weird, it kind of always hits like this in sour beer for me, notes of tangerine and grapefruit alongside it, more lime nuance too. not too acidic to be refreshing which is nice, and the soda carbonation is uplifting and necessary. summery, southwestern, peppy, tart, fun. the little bit of deeper malt here is just fine, gives this a little more structure. generic citrus and the obvious prickly pear as it warms, a little bit lush and kind of wet, rather drinkable even with the sourness. better than many, their sour stuff has been pretty solid!

Look: Reddish-pink and slightly opaque with a spritzy head that explodes to the rim and quickly settles, leaving no lacing behind
Aroma: Tunas (prickly pear fruit), Lactobacillus tartness, a little herbal note, straw, and wafts of guava
Taste: Guava and prickly pear pair up and kick it off with a fruit-laden punch which is quickly followed by a nice tartness that isn’t too strong and doesn’t overpower the fruit. Closes with more of the tart fruitiness
Mouthfeel: Light but fairly full, high carbonation, and some tart astringency on the finish, though nowhere near tongue-curdling levels
Overall: I dig it. I always liked a good kettle sour from time to time and given it’s in the mid 90’s today, it sounded good and it is. I think prickly pear works great in these types of beers (as well as gose) and glad that they used it in this. Lots of fruit flavor too and not just a Lacto-bomb. I’d drink it again and recommend it as well
