This poured out as a crystal clear yellow color with a thin white head on top. The head and lacing were thin and scattered on the glass. The smell of the beer was floral and fruity, it smelled very fresh and clean as well. Aromas of bread and crisp fruit dominate the nose. The taste of the beer is on the sweeter side with little spice notes, the fruit qualities make this beer very refreshing and easy to drink. The mouthfeel is light bodied, well carbonated and smooth. Overall this beer is really quite good. I found it to be rather sessionable even though the high ABV makes it a little dangerous.

Appearance: Yellow and hazy with very little head or lacing

Smell: Not much. At bit of fruit. A bit bready. Not sure what it going on here.

Taste: This is a very very delicate tripel. Some apple and pear with some alcohol on the finish. This does not taste like a tripel. Enjoyable but not what was expected.

Mouthfeel: Very thin and watery for a tripel. Not unpleasant, but not a tripel.

Drinkability: Fairly drinkable. The flavors are light and delicate, not boozy. I think I could down a few without much troulble!

On tap at the Allentown location.

Poured a medium golden color with a small sized head. Aromas of fruitiness (apples), spices, and citrus. Tastes follow suit (fruity, spicy, and citrus) with some alcohol in the finish. On the sweeter side.

Notes from 8/24/08

This is a good beer, I just don't think much of it as a Tripel. It is pale straw in color, which I think is a little too light and it is crystal clear meaning it was rpobably filtered, which shouldn't occur in such a brew. It has some fruity esters and slight phenolic spice and a cirtus burst from the use of corriander, but it is too sweet and not spicy/dry enough to be a tripel. Ithought it was more like a strong wit.

This is a wonderful Belgian Tripel from Fegley and The BBW. I ordered one of these the other night, on Ericaweizens birthday, and I was very surprised at how good it was! I mean, I am a supporter and fan of The BBW, but many of their beers simply don't make the cut. This beer, however, definately did! This brew was a dark golden colour with a big fluffy head of white foam. This beer came to me in a nice, heavy glass chalice, and was excellent. The aromas were of RR yeast, coriander and other spices, belgian candy sugar, slight floral hops, and alcohol. The mouthfeel was thick and creamy and the drinkability was excellent as well. Easily the best beer that I have ever enjoyed out of the tap at The BBW. Fegley, I really applaud you for this one!
