Poured into a 13 oz Weyerbacher tulip glass not sure when it was bottled, but thinking a little over a year ago. Pours a very attractive dark cloudy amber, with a solid inch and a half off white sticky head that leaves tremendous lace.
Smell is caramel, toffee, biscuit, dark fruit, brown sugar, apricot, and some alcohol burn.
Taste follows big hit of alcohol upfront, breadyness, dark fruit, brown sugar, toffee, caramel, apricot, and some more alcohol.
Mouthfeel is a little bigger than medium, plenty of life, a little dry, and a bold sipper that goes down a little easy.
Overall this is a very nice Barleywine, that really abuses the palate and let's you think you you are in charge, until it kicks into high gear. Thanks @jzeilinger for this large and aggressive beer.

A - Pours a clear amber burgundy color with thick, soapy tan colored lacing and very little carbonation. Very viscous on the sides of the glass.
S - Earthy and charred/burnt toffee with some oxidation.
T - Burnt toffee from start to finish, some oak, dark fruit, apricot, and alcohol. Has a lingering burnt toffee flavor with some apricot underneath.
M - Big and full bodied, silky, lip smacking sticky.
O - Aged fairly well.

Brownish copper in color. Light-bodied for the style, however, a more potent maltiness kicked in as this offering warmed. The hops do not have the biting bitterness that I expected from a beer that is advertised as having 100 IBUs.
This beer did pair quite well with my taco dinner.
