It starts badly because of that now too familiar foamy mess that doesn't seem like it's going to stop growing. Eventually, it halts its expansion, then begins to recede unevenly and unattractively. This is often a sign that the taste and mouthfeel will suffer. As it now sits in a clear glass liter mug, after leaving a pint can, the light copper-amber color can be observed. It's pretty translucent for a ale. Surprisingly, the aroma gives a full dose of hops and malt, in good balance. However, the taste isn't at the same level as the smell. There is some maltlike aspect to the body, but it's shallow. Still, the balance of starch with the hoppy bite isn't bad. Then, it finishes like a good APA, leaving with a dryly bitter bite. Also, as expected, the mouthfeel is on the light side and there's virtually no glass lacing. Unfortunately, some of the foam was enduring. This is for ones that like a hop bite delivered in a brew that's a little short on a full malt presence, but full of a hop bite. Not a great ale, but it's not horrible and it fits the style requisites.
