A dark mauve colored brew with a light violet head was emptied from a pint can into a clear glass liter mug. It's dull and it's opaque. The berry smell is there, but unlike many of the new age sours, this actually smells sour, not tart. But, it drinks tastefully tarty, not sourly. The three berry flavors combine to make a pleasant blend and each can be isolated and appreciated. The concern of the word 'Smoothie', as if it might be fraught with lactose, proves unwarranted. If there is milk sugar within, it's a rare occasion of it being done well. There's no stickiness to the body that couldn't just come from a generous puree. Overall, this isn't too sweet, just berry flavor laden, with some tartness and a hint of woodiness. It's body is just right for what it delivers. There's even some glass lacing. This was a nice find.
