One thing nicer about an oat based hazy over one with wheat is the pour. Emptying the entire body of a pint can into a clear glass liter mug produced only a modest just-off-white head. Instead of a mass of foam. Its color is lemon-amber, dull and of course, hazy. There's little starch to smell, just some light hops with a citrusy note. To taste, the hops are mildly balanced, with nearly no bite, not even from citrus. As usual, oats provide a very nice medium, without adding much of a taste layer. This is a pleasant, but blandly tasting Ale. It's disappointing because its lineup of hops leads to expectations of something complexly hoppy. But, it's not. Typical of an oat based brew, the glass lacing is scant. Disappointing doesn't necessarily mean it's bad. This should be rather well received by drinkers that like hazies because they're not too bitter. The ABV is well disguised. It drinks lightly, yet fully and has a nice mild taste.
