Poured as a hazy light yellow color with a white head that vanished pretty quickly. The aroma of some light citrus was on the nose and some Belgian yeast also. The taste of this beer was very mild. There wasn't much of anything that was overly flavorful. It was almost too light I think. The mouthfeel was also very light, pretty smooth though. Overall this beer was nice to try but probably wasnt good enough to make me buy it again.

A: Cloudy dark orange body with an inch of late-arriving off-white foam. Decent retention + lacing. Not bad at all, if a trifle dark for a witbier.

S: Good mix of fairly sweet malt an dlots of spice; the orange peel lends some definite citrus notes, but spicy wheat and coriander are dominant. Solid.

T: The wheat and malt are much more central here, as a robust grainy sweetness is highlighted by the spice and fruitiness of the adjuncts. Things roll along nicely until the finish, but there everything devolves into vaguely sweet nothingness. Reasonably flavorful and to style, but not as rich overall as I hoped.

M: Nice smooth body with light carbonation. I'd like it a bit livelier, but it's not bad for a growler.

D: While I don't like the weak finish, it does make it easy to drink.

Notes: While nothing really special, this is a thoroughly enjoyable and extremely drinkable witbier. Distinctly better than Blue Moon or UFO, but still far short of actual Belgian examples of the style. Worth a shot if you're in the neighborhood.

S: Wow smell is amazing for a witbier. Has a great orange rind coming in the nose along with some floral hops

T: oranges! Wow. Very interersting flavor and excellent for summer.

M: mild mouth and easy to drink

Was out at Musikfest in Bethlehem, Pa and took the opportunity to take one of the Brew Works find creations with me.

A: Hazed blonde with an inch of off white suds which leaves quick and doesn't leave much to remember it by.

S: Spicey and sweet with citrus and coriander,

T: Nice spice, clove, and citrus, with a light tanginess.

M: Body was a bit too light but a pretty easy drinker overall.

D: Real nice offering for walking around the town on a Summer night. BBW is a solid local brewpub and this is another nice offering. Probably not one to go out of your way for, but if you're at the pub give it a try.

Ordered a pint with my sandwich, served with an orange wedge (removed). Appears darker than your average wit, more of an average color and without much head.

Not quite as light and biscuit-like as the Steelgaarden Wit, this reminds me more of a spice cake as this beer focuses on the spicy yeast character of a wit with mild, sweet malts in the background. Tastes a bit simple, but it's a tasty beer and fine accompaniment to Brew Works grub.

Lightly hazed amber blonde with an inch of off white suds. Decent retention but little lace.

Aroma is sweet and spicey, fruit and sweet yeast with orange, coriander, bubblegum, and light minerality.

Mmm, a nice twist on the Witte. Traditional spice, clove, fruit, orange, and light pepper with a darker malt presence. Light toasted caramel and amber candi sugar.

Body light, creamy, wheaty, and slippery. Could use a little more body. Still a great summer quencher.

It was a slightly cloudy light gold with a white head. It had a definate citric head with a little bit of malt and hops behind it. Very nice malty beer with a crisp citrus taste. Much more like a filtered wheat than a wit. The feel missed the sediment, but otherwise it was a light dry beer. This is one I would have again on any visit to Bethlehem.

The final growler in the GIF3 adventure, finds me with this fine beer from Bethlehem, Pa. This poured a bright golden orange with just a slight touch of chill haze. A beautifully creamy and persistent head topped the beer off. A head that kept bouncing right back pour after pour. The aroma yields pleasantly sour and fruity malts. Sweet ruby red grapefruit, sour apricots and some ripe cherry. The taste is very pleasant. Light, fruity and very flavorful. A perfect summer beer that has a fine blend of lightly sweetened malt with just the right amount of soft fruity bitterness.

This slightly above-average Belgian summer beer poured a nice orange colour with a small, whispy head. The aromas were of citrus fruits, yeasts, and candy sugars. The taste was a nice melange of the above noted flavors. The mouthfeel was thin, but not too watery and the drinkability was very good as this is a very refreshing and thirst quenching Belgian summer beer!

I recently tried this while out eating with some friends at the brew works in north bethlehem. I had it almost 2 weeks ago, and the memory is fading, but I can remember the beer pouring a beauiful light brown, almost orange color with a decent 1/2" head that remained for the entire time I drank it. This may have been complemented by the slice of orange that garnished the pint. Even without the orange slice, aromas of orange and floral hops abound. First sip was wonderfully refreshing, with a sweetnes to it that was complexed by the hops and very light yeast taste. It was definitely darker and had more character than a wit, but the smooth refreshing taste and corrinader notes remained. The beer was wonderful, and I plan on returning for more before the summer ends.

Update: Stopped in for another pint, and ended up getting a growler of this wonderful beer. Word of caution: It's substantially more to get your growler filled with a seasonal than with one of the 3 flagship beers. I was taken back when it cost me $15 for a fill rather than $8. Still great beer, but I'll think twice before getting another to go.
