Few things whip me up more than a new Heater Allen beer. Growler from Tin Bucket.
A clear copper with a dense, beige head with excellent retention and lacing, this is a beautiful beer. The nose is excellent. Fresh, bready, spicy with a very nice blend of rye, toast, grain and hops, this is appealing. The hop blend of earth, dust and a little mint is nicely constructed. A background of honeyed toast is present.
The palate, however, is a whole different beast. Just stunning. The perfect balance of hops and toasted Vienna with just enough rye to add a surprising but welcome element to the palate, this is beautiful. Drying on the finish with a lingering, bitterness with a touch of lemon that brightens things upconsiderably. Full yet light with a beautiful lingering bready and hop flavor, creamy, supple, smooth, stunning. Even among Heater Allen beers, the mouthfeel here stands out. Fabulous.

Spicy hops and malt with a ride home melanoiden backbone. Very clean, very aromatic, and very flavorful.
