Deep amber. Cream white head with very minimal retention. Minimal lacing and carbonation. Aromas of prune and dark cherry. Toffee, dark caramel, and plum flavors. Silky mouth feel. Lingering dark spice flavors with nutmeg and slight hint of allspice. Quick finish. Well balanced. Hints of candy syrup without being cloying. Excellent American version of a Belgian dark strong. Could use more body and carbonation, but the flavor makes up for it.
