Growler from Imperial on Alberta.
A clear yellow with a dense, white head with excellent retention and lacing, this looks great. The nose is delicious with a strong pils malt note, grainy, doughy and with a little honey along with a prominent and firmly hoppy nose. Lemons, fresh and preserved, are present, but these hops do lack the depth that Saaz and the other old world hops offer. Nicely grainy. The palate opens bitter with lemon, lemon peel, an earthy preserved lemon note before a blend of dough and honey take over. Grainy with a nice pils malt character. Drying, bitter on the finish, with a slightly rough texture to the bitterness that detracts from the palate. Light in body and softly carbonated, this beer is quite delicious.
