Black cola colored with an initial surge of ripe, smoke-colored fizz that is soon betrayed by a generalized lack of CO2. The mild appearance of caramel flavor is drab and sadly unaccompanied by any hint of roasted grains. Likewise, the toffee aroma expires quickly, leaving a tousled stir of medicinal phenols in its wake.
ItÂ’s unknown to me whether Cream of Porter is brewed with an infusion of lactose, but this beer is anything but creamy. The mouthfeel drags with reluctant friction and the lack of body inhibits delivery of any latent flavors. Tastes like fizzy sugar water.
