Compare grizzle to meat and you get some sense of how this ale measures up to a fine porter. It is walnut brown with an eclipsed head and a flat, sullen body built on chocolate flavor warped by intrusive tartness. The aroma is also chocolaty but is tinged by swamp water, and the mouthfeel is tawdry and strained. No thanks.
