In times of battle, few rules apply. Plunder is no exception. Hopped with nine treasured varieties, this IPA has a refreshing bite with aromas of citrus and pine. With a lighter body and bright hop profile, this San Diego brewed IPA leaves no questions that it is a treasure worth seizing.

Clear and attractive golden beer with plenty of white foam in the cider flute. Seriously hoppy stew. After it warms us a little there is a peculiar fishy note. I got a clean glass out and poured another dose but it's an oddity. Aromas of citrus, mango, and cedar.
Warm and a little sweet. A lot of malty depth. Quite bitter finish that lingers long into the aftertaste. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Bottlecraft in North Park.

you know, i have never been to high on these guys and this new one (to me) is sort of more of the same. it is clear and blonde and pretty looking in the glass under its pillowy white head, and the aroma is great, west coasty, juicy, oily, fresh, a whole bunch of cool hop strains aggressively dosed. the flavor though just doesnt follow that trajectory, instead of this tropical hop profile the nose teased, its so bitter that there is nothing else to taste. they really got the balance and proportions wrong here, and only the self tortuous bitter lover will find redeeming properties here. for me, i wanted it to taste like it smells, and its not even close. nice and light in feel though for being a bit on the stronger side, and well carbonated. this is close to being a great ipa, but thats kind of how i feel about their other hoppy beers, they are all just a step away from really being as good as they should be. not all bad though, the price is right and it packs a punch. similar to other mission releases, nothing special.

Deep gold, bronze-ish hue. Thick two finger head on the pour with nice retention. Lace coats the side of the glass on the way down. Real good looking brew.
Light malt presence on the nose, with the meshing of hops giving this one a heavy earthy, citrusy smell. The main notes of a typical IPA are here: grapefruit, citrus zest, pine. Also picking up some tobacco and baked bread.
Heavily hoppy on the tongue, with a dry bitterness of citrus zest and pine resin. The tobacco presence also comes through here and makes for an almost chewy mouthfeel. Fresh cut grass, pineapple, guava, crackers, baked bread, malt.
Finishes quite dry with a lighter mouthfeel - which they intended. Not a bad IPA, one of the better brews I've had from Mission.
