On-tap at Strong Ale
A: The pour is a clear, golden-straw color with a rather pleasant to look at white head.
S: Certainly not what I was expecting from a tripel. Starts off with a big sweet corn aroma and apple juice. At least as the beer sits for a moment there are some sweet fruit aromas such as pears and bananas. Also, a touch of yeast and a mild clove spice.
T: Very sweet, like a lot of tripels are. I get a lot of apple juice and candi sugar type flavors. There's a bit of pear and banana, but not too much. A mild maltiness is present as well. Not quite as much spice or yeast character as the nose had.
M: The body is medium and the level of carbonation is fairly high, but that's probably a good thing.
D: Not a bad beer, but I haven't really been too impressed by anything from Mission. This beer continues that trend.
