Pours a malty looking brown color with an off white head. There was some lacing going down the glass. The aroma was nutty and a bit roasted.
The taste had mainly sweet and roasted flavor, nutty malts and a bit of vanilla. Sweetness works well with the toast and nutty vanilla flavor I would attribute in part to coconut additions.
Light to medium bodied, carbonation was at a decent medium level. Just about average there.
Overall, an agreeable brown ale I would not mind drinking again.

According to the brewery, an American Brown brewed with toasted coconut. Sounds better than it tastes. I find it a rather tart dark beer. Taste is more like a sharpish thin sort of stout. It's saved by a lot of quite mellow dark malt, and maybe something from the flavoring, though it certainly doesn't taste like coconut. Really dark in the pint glass with minimal foam.
More woody than coconutty. Slight nose of roast malt. A little dark caramel but not much sweetness. Not a bad quaff, but it would be better with some carbonation.
On tap at Pizza Port OB for $4.75 a pint.
01/14/2013 update - Had this at the Mission tasting room and liked it better. Sweet and nutty flavors but rather restrained, warm malt tones with coconut in the nose. Light body and slightly slick, and not a bad Brown Ale.
