Drinking three weeks after bottling. Been waiting a long time to find one this fresh. From Warners.

Pours a beautful hazy golden colour, effervescent head, that subsides sadly all too quickly.

Aromas of pear, somewhat like Coopers Pale.

Taste takes a leftfield turn, akin to drinking yoghurt. Some bitterness, but too sweet for style. Sweetness creeps up. Not good. Bitter taste left after drinking, one of my pet beer hates.

Mouthfeel a little cloying.

Overall, not quite there. Sad, my (very) local brewery.

Although 4.0% on website, the hand-written label gave this as 4.5%.

a: hazy pale orange, very similar to Hefe in appearance 3.0

s: caraway seed, lantana, slight funky blue cheese 3.5

f: touch of sour milk, plenty of malt character, with a milk lolly aftertaste, spicy herbaceous hop. touch of marzipan 3.0

m: good balance of body & crispness 4.0

d: I'm uncertain about this beer.... every bottle had this strange sour milk or yoghurt note about it. It all tasted nice.... no doubt, but the flavours were unusual 3.0

a: As above. No change to rating.
s: Slight briny note, fresh grain notes. Some floral character. No change to rating.
f: So fresh... pale malt grain flavours, hint again of some lactic element, although yet to set in like earlier review. Lift rating to 3.5.
m: Quite a light body, crisp finish. No change to rating.
d: This is a much better example than before. Drinks so freshly, like milk. Very straightforward ale, not much complexity. But freshness is the key here. Up to 3.5

Handwritten label marks this one as brewed one month ago from when I tasted it. The ABV on this batch was 4.3%

Pours a slightly cloudy, burnt golden colour. filmy head of off-white foam, sticks to the edges and is fed by lots of carbonation. You can hear the bubbles effervescing from quite a way away.

Light toffee notes on the nose, hints of citrus, but it's all very light, and not very in-your-face. It's a very subtle sweetness, tinged with a slight tartness, maybe like pickled lemon rind. Too light to my mind, but not unpleasant.

Flavour is also quite light, with an initial bite of subdued coppery bitterness, then a long, slightly sweet nuttiness, rather reminiscent of peanut butter. Finish is quite flat. Mouthfeel is reasonably smooth. It's drinkable but by no means stellar.

Hey, it's a pretty damn drinkable beer, all up. It's not "extreme", not going to knock your socks off, but a solid pale ale in the English tradition.
