Enjoyed from the 275ml bottle in a snifter via a friend from across the pond---THANKS KEITH!
This fine bitter pours a luminous copper color with a quickly dissipating off white head of foam that settles to a thin ring and little lacing. Nose of light caramel and subtle toffee, light fruit notes of apricot, and light herbal hops. Flavors exceed the nose with rich caramel and toffee notes on all sides that fade to a light fruity apricot note mid taste. That old familiar Harveys yeast comes into play on the back with the mild herbal hop bitterness giving balance. Very low carbonation, smooth, and a sweet lightly dry finish. Balanced. THAT is what English ales are all about. Haven't had a Harveys in a long time and this one is a true treat!
Cheers!
