Cask halfpint at The White Hart, Crawley. ABV is 4.3%. Golden color, white head. Moderate aroma. Smooth and fruity flavour with a spicy hint, very nice.

Hmmm, say it is retired here but I just had this past Saturday (June 21 2008). On cask at Harveys' tied house in Southwark, the Royal Oak.
Transparent yellow, no head. Eep. What is going on here.
Hint of hops; grass, citrus; but almost no aroma to be found - and this was on cask and a good temp. Maybe a bit of pale malt. Nothing original.
Boring palate, pale malt and some grass, not even some aleish fruitiness that you would expect with a cask blonde. Feel was uninspired - this sort of blonde needs some bubbles.
Perhaps it should be retired, my least favourite of the day (even though it was recommended by a fellow patron, bless his soul).

This beer is allegedly brewed to commemorate the Gold Medal won by Harvey's Best Bitter in the Best Bitter category, GBBF 05. Tasted by half-pint at the Lord Nelson, a brilliant Harvey's house in Brighton, on 28/06/2006.
A: pale golden hue, absolutely clear; no beer head comes with the beer and very low carbonated--all very Harvey's.
S: a slightly citric edge of hops comes with a salty hint, threaded through by a sour-sweet edge of pale malts. Very light and slightly off-focus.
T: smooth pale malts stay underneath an intensifyingly dryish-bitter citric flavour of Goldings-related hops (Styrian Goldings??); turning incredibly dryish hoppy all the time with a chewy, dried-grassy as well as unsweet-honeyish palate on the side... a skunky edge of something takes me by surprise in the end, though. The slightly salty-sweet malt formula reminds me of a recently-tasted seasonal brew of Harvey's, "Copper Wheat", although I have no clue if they are even remotely connected in terms of recipes.
M&D: chewy, tangy, very dryish bitter in the aftertaste... the body is slightly weaker than ideal but overall it makes a quaffable Blond Ale that a conservative brewery like Harvey's could manage with ease. Actually it's like a hoppier and drier version of Harvey's (ve...ry weak) Pale Ale.
