Deep reddish copper with a malty aroma that says "Drink me!!"
This brew's all about the malt - medium dark malt flavors (think toffee, fruit, autumn leaves) with a background tinge of graininess (common with most of their brews) and just enough hops to give it a balancing bitterness. Alcohol is apparent (they didn't list the ABV for their beers) but doesn't overpower it at all. It finishes with a residual malty sweetness and some alcohol and apple-like flavors in the background. Not a huge mouthfeel - doesn't have a chewiness that I like to see in strong ales, but for that reason is very drinkable.
