I ordered a pint of this on my trip to Red Eye this past weekend. The SHR stands for "single hop red," per the menu.
L: Pours a cloudy, rusty amber with about an inch of off-white head that sticks around for a bit and leaves nice lacing on the glass. Moderate visible carbonation.
S: Some nice pine hop notes in the nose to accompany the caramel malts present. This one has an overall pleasant earthy quality to it.
T: Sweet caramel malt at the front, with just a bit of toastiness to it. The hops begin to develop in the middle--they have a pine quality, along with something more herbal and earthy--but they never overshadow the malts. The malts continue to make their presence felt here and into the back. The close is decidedly hoppy, offering a nice pine flavor and bitterness to fairly clean finish.
F: Medium-bodied, fairly smooth, and quite clean-finishing. There's not much of a stick or syrupy quality to it, but it definitely has a heartiness about it. Nice level of carbonation.
O: I enjoyed this one. It's a bit more hoppy than I'm used to in an American amber, but I really enjoyed the hop presence. The earthiness in this one is a bit reminiscent of Fat Tire, but SHR is much more hop-forward. I recommend trying it, if you ever make your way to Red Eye.
