red eye green sky. so named because it was brewed with water heated by a solar panel.
a 4 very pale straw. modest head leaves transient lace, but the bubbles appear to be fine, quality little spheres.
s 4 fresh wheat, very crackery, subtle notes of floral and/or grassy hops.
t 3.5 they at first seemed to hit the balance nail on the head with this one. the pale malty sweetness plays with the wheat, which adds a very very slight lemony tang. fresh and delicious, the crackers are there in full but gentle force, with added elements of pepper (from hops or yeast, not sure) and parmesan (from the malt?) and the finish has just enough of a bittering hop presence to clear up some of the sweetness and demand another giant pull. ok, might be a tipped too much toward sweet, which becomes more and more apparent as the limited carbonation abandons ship.
m 3 velvety. the carbonation is arguably too low, probably due to a touch being lost in the filling of the growler (the sample i had before ordering seemed slightly more alive with co2). ok, the further along this goes the more urgently the need for more carbonation is felt, in part to counter the accumulating sweetess.
d 3.5 getting to know this beer for a couple of glasses took me on an up and then back down trajectory.
