Served on tap, poured into a pint glass.
Nearly but not quite pitch black, with a small btu long lasting coffee colored head.
Very nice roasted aroma, coffee, chocolate, grains.
Medium bodied, well concealed alcohol, with a roasted to slightly burnt taste, a little more to the bitter side of stouts, but not quite bitter. Chocolate, coffee, a hint of molasses. Not very complex, but very pleasant.
As an imperial stout, it lacks body and "punch"; as a regular stout, it would be on the higher end of the spectrum. Expect a regular stout and you will be pleasantly surprised.
