look: one finger frothy white head with great retention, beer is a hazy golden colour with carbonation cascading up the beer, pretty looking beer.
smell: intriguing to say the least, gooseberry is the first aroma that jumps out, lot of raspberry, hint of blueberry, white bread malt, honey, grass, earthy, sour, some vanilla sweetness, orange peel, belgian yeast aroma, a lot going on.
taste: mad beer, a saison crossed with a jelly doughnut, bready malt, quite sweet, some banana and clove, those hard to pin down goaty leathery saison flavours, earthy, and those berry flavours which really linger on the finish, way less gooseberry than on the nose but it’s still there, bit metallic on the finish, no bitterness on the finish, odd.
feel: light bodied, medium to high carbonation, maybe a bit watery, very drinkable though.
overall: it’s interesting for sure, not the best saison in the world though must be said, pleasant enough and full of character.
