This beer surprised the hell out of me.
Bartender hands me a pint glass full of a deep red/amber brew with a nice tight white head that liked where it was and showed no signs of leaving soon. I sniff. WHOA!! What's that? Caramelly sweet toffeeish noble hop goodness coming into my nose!?!?! HERE?!?!? I must quaff!!
Sonofa... this is excellent!! Nice round mouthfeel with great toffee/caramel apple/dare I say it decoction like maltiness with a balancing noble hop spiciness/flavor, alongside a firm, balancing bitterness. Nigh on exemplary - this may be one of the best pints I've had here, EVER, and I've been coming here for 8 years through both Goose reigns as well as Charles Noll's experimental years. None of the graininess I've had in some of their brews - solid, solid brewing effort by the Goose!!
I may head back tomorrow with friends to confirm what I just tasted. Wow. Yeah, it's that good.
