The smell is malty with some grassy hops. The bitterness is very mild. Some roasted notes and a hint of nuts.
The colour is brown red (40 EBC), the liquid clear. The two finger head is pale brown and compact. Some lacing occurs when it slowly sinks down.
The taste is malty with some sweet, bread-like notes (rye bread). Mildny bitter, balancing notes with hints of hay, flowers and a touch of coffee with cream. Hints of mixed spices in the background. Medium body. The aftertaste is mildly sweet with some grassy hops, hints of rye bread and dried apricots.
The carbonation is mild to medium, medium sized fresh bubbles. The liquid is mid-smooth.
A very British winter warmer with dry malt and grassy hops and the right amount of alcohol. I really liked this one!

A clear deep amber beer, an off-white rather modest head, but some lacing is left.
The smell is malty, bread, porridge, some hay.
Upfront sweet, brown sugar, dark bread, bitter orange and grape-fruit peel.
Medium high carbonation, a refreshing texture with lively medium bubbles, medium body and a dry tail.
A slightly above average Christmas beer, in my reckoning.
