Larnaka 13/7 2017. 50 cl can from Smart Supermarket. Judging by the can this is a beer that is proud to be German. But then again if you choose to name your beer "Germania" that should be apparent. Some kind of Roman Deity on the can together with declaration about the "Deutschen Rheinheitsgebot".

Pours clear yellow with big bubbly head. Lively carbonation. Settles as 1 cm thick layer of fluffy foam. Lacing on the side of the glass.

Aroma is sweetish but not terribly strong. Grainy, sweet malts and light notes of grass.

Soft carbonation and watery palate.

Flavor is a little thin. Medium sweet followed by medium bitterness. A little harsh. Aftertaste is bitter. Lingering.

Not the Best German pilsener I have ever tasted. But compared to endless line of Pale Lagers I have encountered on Cyprus this is certainly decent.

Sept. 2012: 330 ml can, as Germania Pilsner Premium, producer Frankenthaler Brauhaus GmbH, Johann-Klein-Str. 22-24, 67227 Frankenthal/Pfalz, Germany. ABV is 4.8%. Shared by abemorsten, thanks. Golden colour, moderate white head. The aroma is grainy with notes of over-cooked vegetables and dust. The flavour has first a little sweetness, dusty and "empty" in the middle, ending in a slight metallic bitterness. You’ll find many German pilseners better than this one.

 

 

 

From El Corte Ingles El Duque. In Bavaria hefe glass. 50cl can. Playing Oceanhorn. Pretty Standard german pilsener. Not much to add. No defects, nothing mindblowing. Good feel, crushable

This beer is quite faint but all in all has a nice malty taste. Not bad at all for 1 euro in Cyprus. Most of the beers there are sold for the summer heat.

 

The best way to describe this is that it's an average pilsener. But you can't go wrong with pilseners. This is a pretty cheap beer too, and comes in a 50cl can, which is nice. Overall not too bad (considering its price), but nothing special.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This is a pretty poor pils, but expected for the price range (this is a budget beer). It has a decent appearance, but for the most part this beer comes of as watery, weak and bland. Weak malt profile, slightly sour, musty aroma. Won’t try this again.

Firstly ill have to say i think this stuff is cheap. It makes you burp and hop so fu@@@ much! Bitter. Like if you are drinking this with anything, its just going to ruin the taste. Just Saying.

Appearance boring. I mean i have seen worse styles but this one is nothing better.green stripes save it.

Fairly ok smell, like, bitter, but you like it. Nothing really alcoholic, as u can see from the low abv. I expected something with more raisins or something. But no.

The taste was really bitter. So bitter that i couldnt really taste anything else. Also, some metallic taste i could get, whatever it is its not pleasant

Mouthfeel was wet. Which Made me want to swallow it as quick as possible. Which i did, resulting in the;

Dizziness. If you are really not used to cheap beer you are NOT allowed to drink this.. Evar!!
