330 ML poured into a Estella globe glass
At Delicado food wines and tapas at McMahons Point
The brewery website says an amber lager, so rolling with that
A-- Poured a murky amber color. half finger of light brown head that went to a decent collar and then just film. No lacing and not much head retention. Color and body did improve through drinking. Much more of a brighter and clearer amber color.
S-- Honey, chocolate, orange, nutmeg and mince pie. Quite a sweet nose.
T-- All the above but more more gritty and earthy. Took on a baltic porter profile. Or the choice of hops were quite earthy and gave that profile.
M-- Still earthy and gritty but the hops do smooth out the sweetness in the body. A little syrupy at times and the honey dominates here and there but good carbonation and medium bodied. A bit of a slow sipper.
O-- Not bad and a decent Christmas seasonal. Profile was a bit different for an amber ale as it seemed to be a BSDA and a Baltic porter at times. Would revisit if given the chance.
