Thanks to waldo567 for sharing this brew with me. The bottle actually labeled this as a belgian triple. Perhaps whomever added the beer did so incorrectly?
The beer is chilled and I am pouring into a small glass. The brew exhibits a clear orange color with creamy beige head foaming up 1 cm and fading to a surface layer quickly. The aroma is bready yeast, grainy malt and white grapes, pears and cloves too. Smells like a triple! I dig the nose.
The first sip reveals an average body and average yet tingly carbonation.
Flavor is sweet and fruity with pears and green apple up front, rolling to white grape and bready yeast again. I get a bit of candied sugar and cherries on the finish. The beer also allows a bit of booziness on the finish. Up until then the alcohol has been hidden well.
AN easy drinker and pretty interesting nose. Not a bad beer from K-town!

Okay, went to school at Kutztown, the seemed to have a great brew, but I was mostly mistaken....however, they still run a decent operation..thanks Waldo!
L- Pale gold color w/ 3/4" white spongy head with a slight haze...
A- Slight white grapes along with some grapefruit aromas...maybe even some pears...quite fruity, but kinda boring.
T- Sugary white grapes w/ some vinegary flavors and finish; a bit of yeast also...okay...
F- Lots of alcohol which is unfortunate for a 7%-er...kills some flavor....medium body to speak of though.
D- Uh...it's okay...worth trying i guess.

Coppery orange clear golden hueas with tons of sticky tan foamy head.
Hoppiness surpasses all aroma notes, then a "sandy" grassy piney detection pops out. Not the killer hops, but short lived prescence. Dry lasting hops finish rounds out thebrew.
Medium feel and some stickiness to the body.
Last swigs: Dry hop flavor and solid feel. This won my "Best of show First Prize" Blue Ribbon of the seven offerings during my visit. This is a KT/GA beer that showed some promise if their other beers would become a bit bolder in a welcome way to beersnobs like me.

This ale has a nice deep amber appearance, with an almost eerily purple hue in the right light. No lacing apparent. Faint hints of fruit tease the nose, but not too much olfactory significance here. A very mild, pleasant maltiness to the taste, with just the right hint of hops. Nice creamy mouthfeel and an aftertaste that lingers just long enough to hold your attention between sips. The Tavern Ale remains very drinkable, and is my personal favorite from Golden Avalanche.
