I had a half-pint of this during a visit on 01JUN12. My bartender specifically said this was their Black Onyx Stout aged in bourbon barrels.

It was an opaque, dense, deep brown color. Head was creamy and beige, thinning fairly quickly yet leaving good lace behind. Aroma had a mix of choco, cocoa nibs and mocha - quite nice! It was medium-plus in the body category, and was a smooth, easy glider on the tongue.

Flavor had choco big-time, with more mocha mixed in. It was only a touch bitter, with a milk-chocolatey semi-sweetness coating the palate. The bourbon was restrained, mostly lurking in the background, yet still fairly evident. Had a light touch of roastiness, but quite mild, with some subtle floral hopping near the finish. A nice nightcap after a tasty pizza. Prosit!
