GABCO describes this a Belgian Dubbel, but the alcohol says different. Brewed with blackstrap molasses and aged on tart red cherries.

A - Served with a darker brown body that had some clarity to it...the head was white and fluffy and about one finger tall...decent retention lead to decent lacing

S - The yeast strain and Belgian spices jump out first...they are backed by deep, sweet molasses

T - The flavors mirror the nose to a tee...first sip reveals the Belgian spices, mainly pepper and clove...the yeast comes out strong in the middle and adds some depth to the flavor...towards the finish is where the blackstrap molasses comes in...its rich and thick and cuts through the Belgian flavors...there is a touch of sweetness at the end

M - Medium bodied...a little watered down, but not light in lingering flavors especially the molasses

O - I was searching hard to find the cherries, but they came up short...I liked the idea behind this one because who thinks of molasses in a Belgian...it did a good job cutting through the spices, but was maybe a little disconnected?
