Poured into a mug, the appearance was a light brown color with a thin half finger’s worth of white foamy head. Sliding stringy lace. The aroma had some nuts, then wood, then earth, and some light floral qualities. The flavor was dry surrounding the previously mentioned aromas and semi-sweet with a touch of breadiness. Dry crisp semi-sweet sort of aftertaste rolling into the finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability if one can get past it’s dryness. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt pretty much right on. Overall, pretty nice seasonal as an American brown ale.

Their brown ale pours awfully thin from the tap, and has basically no head. It's as red as it is brown, but super light, the nose is almost like root beer or sarsaparilla, with a sweet earthy character, no or very little roast barley character or even chocolate malt in this too, it's just so light on the grain for a brown. The hops seem scaled back too, so it's not the most flavorful take in the style, but that root beer comes through and actually tastes pretty good. Just so eatery in texture without the body or carbonation that usually comes in the style. It also is lost in yeast, not English or American there, just bland in yeast. I much prefer the other Davidson offerings to this one, although like the IPA, it's not bad, just nothing worth having again.
