Extra Irish Stout

Poured into a mug, the appearance was a black color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head. Sly messy lace. The aroma started with some roasty coffee beans intertwining with some robust cocoa beans. Dark fruits move in sweetly. The flavor makes for the most part to blend between coffee bitterness and roastiness to the sweetness to the dark fruits and cocoa beans. Adds just a touch of sweet cream. Blended roasty to sweet to bitter aftertaste. Quick dry dark fruity and roasted finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV somewhat felt there. Overall, it works as a foreign stout. Though the ABV projected seems to be on par for the style, it does feel a bit under in this beer.

 

This is a nice strong, dark stout with a good chocolatey taste. Not too bitter either. About medium thickness and not overly carbonated. Goes down smooth and fills you up. For a beer with 9.1% ABV you don't notice it, but after two pints you certainly will! Nice beer. Enjoy responsibly.
