Fairly clear dark gold colour with a small, creamy-offwhite head.
Smooth and malty flavour with good clove and banana esters from the yeast. A hint of strawberry can be caught on the tip of the tongue. Just a little bit sweet in the finish.
The aroma is fairly sweet with a few Belgian yeast esters. Just a little dull and overly sweet.
Full body with moderately-low carbonation. It's actually a bit thick and this only serves to accentuate the sweetness.
A decent Belgian ale but lacking in finesse. A little more dryness would help the beer immensely.

This is another one that is not bottled- I got the chance to sample this beer at Galbraith's Alehouse in Auckland on draft. It's a trappist style and 7% abv. It poured a yellow copper. It smelled belgiany with some stewed plums, dark fruits and some slight biscuit notes. It tasted belgiany with a light, sweet caramel, some toffee notes and a bit of stewed dark fruits. Again, another great innovative style that they are doing at Croucher.
