Barley wine with all Michigan malt, hops and maple syrup. Bbl aged 10 months in a once used Grand Traverse Distillery whiskey bbl with a dash of orange peel.

This beer, being a limited run, was served in 6oz. sample glasses. It is a very dark color, with a creamy head. RBB describes it as 'whiskey, leather & licorice', which does not disappoint. The beer begins with a slightly smooth vanilla taste and mouthfeel, leading quickly into the distinct hard tasting leather. The remainder which sits in your mouth when done swallowing is a distinct bite, mixing a black licorice tinge with that of the leftover wet leather.
Not my favorite from RBB, but pretty wild and well worthy of a 1000th batch.
