Poured on-tap and served in a tulip, the beer is jet black and thick, with a dense, foamy, clingy, tan head. Nose of bourbon, vanilla, rich chocolate, molasses, and roasted coffee. Flavors are rich vanilla and molasses forward, with undertones of cocoa nib and coffee. Subtle roast and smoke highlights. Balanced and rich, on a smooth, full, robust body. The aftertaste is heavily roasted, with bitter coffee, bittersweet chocolate, booze, and molasses notes. Smooth, slow, layered finish. Good beer.

Had on tap at Hopcat Detroit. Beautiful looking beer: almost black with a thin head. Roasted malts, chocolate and coffee on the nose. Very smooth tasting: chocolate, coffee, maple but only slightly boozy. Great beer!
