22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled in 11/2016. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-2 finger dense khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big nutty dark roasted coffee, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, toasted dark bread, light smoke, and roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt, coffee, pumpkin, and spice notes; with great strength. Taste of big nutty dark roasted coffee, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, toasted dark bread, light smoke, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of nutty coffee, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, toasted dark bread, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, coffee, pumpkin, and spice flavors; with a great roasted bitter/sweet and spice balance, with zero cloying flavors after the finish. Minimal dryness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/silky, and lightly sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.5%. Overall this is an awesome pumpkin spiced coffee stout! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, coffee, pumpkin, and spice flavors; very smooth and easy to drink. The balance between the base stout and pumpkin/spice flavors is pretty much perfect. Not overly spicy or drying, with a great mouthfeel. A really enjoyable offering.
