Pours brilliantly clear, with a reddish-copper hue that borders on light amber. A loose, off-white head exceeds two inches before falling to puffy seafoam. I noticed no apparent carbonation. Occasional patches of lace form on a Pretentious Glass Company pub tulip.
The aroma opens with mild lime, followed by light cherry. More noticeable is the brackish brine.Warmth brings out mild wheat.
The flavor is very salty! The aroma doesn't quite prepare one, however, it definitely accentuates the brackishness. Tart cherries are inverted from the aroma to prominence over the lime. Both are amplified from the aroma profile. Light bitterness exceeds faint to no sweetness. The finish is mild and lingering, like a bay breeze after a storm.
Alcohol is absent while carbonation is modest. It has a stiff nylon texture and light to medium body.
This is definitely what I expect from an American version of a Leipzig Gose. It is well done and easy to drink.
