Served from cask into short snifter glass. Deep brown/black in color, with a moderate head of tan foam. Had on 6-22-11.
Aroma-Big whiff of smoky, spicy chilies, subtle chocolate.
Taste-Big onrush of smoked chipotle chilies that almost takes your breath away but then is throttled back by milk chocolate and coffee with cream to just barely contain the awesome spiciness. Not for the faint of heart, this ale will get your attention in a hurry. I wish it was available as a regular "on-tap" offering so I could get a growler to-go. Mellow this out a bit, brew as a regular or Imperial "kegged" stout and you could have something very special here. That being said, if you like big, bold flavorfull cask ales, get this one while it lasts!
