Dark ruby body. Medium sized brown head forms on the pour but fizzes away quickly. Within seconds, there's no head. And lacing is minimal. Smells like a decent oatmeal stout, but really not a lot of coffee on the nose. It's chocolatey and roasty, but really missing the coffee aroma. I'd rated the aroma higher if this was just an oatmeal stout...but it isn't. Taste is the same. Nice roast. Nice chocolate. But where's the coffee?? Edmund Fitzgerald has more coffee in the flavor than this and it doesn't even use coffee. Mouthfeel is a little lifeless. Thin and watery. Not a favorite of mine.
