Fuzzy peach colored body. Luminescent. Thin eggshell colored head. Bubbly lace is sporadic and droopy. Solid caramel malt on the nose. Citrus hops too. Particularly tangerine. Quite nice. The flavor is very unique and good. Citrus is big. Nice rind like bitterness. Rye adds some spiciness. There are some resin properties and a little smoky canabis. It has a dry finish. Medium body at best. Moderate carbonation. Bitterness lingers a little. All in all, flavorful, drinkable and enjoyable.

Had this on a Saturday night and was thoroughly impressed.

A: The beer came to me from across the bar, so I watched it get poured. It was golden orange with some haze, not cloudy, but noticeably not clear. The head was small, less than one finger high, and this was by no fault of the bartender, it just came out that way. The head is white and it leaves fast, there's no carbonation here active or otherwise it appears. 3.5/5

S: Mild (at least in this atmosphere) but the rye is very much there. Maybe some German hops, perhaps saaz? Or that could be the spicy rye. No regular malts that I can detect. 4/5

T: Rye is again prevalent, and the brewer seems to push the amount to which one can take rye, but it works nice. Again, spicy saaz hops, but maybe something English?? Could be fuller bodied taste, but that's sort of the nature of a pale ale. This RPA is not as sweet as so many McCann's beers I've had, which is a plus. 4.5/5

M: Like the taste, this beer is a little light in the mouthfeel. But the more I drink, the more I come to like that, some Rye's are to creamy. I'm not even noticing any lack of carbonation. 4.5/5

D: Great RPA, not something I would want all the time, but if I was having a rye beer, this would be near the top for me, and is definitely something to check out if you're in the area. 4/5

This is really top notch.

A magnificent blend of rye and simcoe hops.

The aroma really showcases my favorite hop nicely. A fresh, juicy citrus aroma...ripe oranges, tangerines, grapefruit..then the rye emerges secondary..

I love the rye presence on the taste. Nutty and bready....in fact even on the finish the rye is more noticable to me than the significant hop flavors. The hop flavors are more sharp than juicy but strongly citrus...

Body is medium...great lacing on the glass...highly drinkable and sessionable.

This is a gem...I'd like to see this become a staple in their regular lineup. Reminds me some of my favorite APA of all-time (which also uses Simcoe)...Rock Bottom's Itasca. This isn't that far off.

From McCann's website: This medium bodied Pale Ale carries a slight spicyness from a addition of rye in the mash. This nicely supports the subtle biscuity malt profile. A generous portion of Simcoe hops provides a nice citrus snap to the finish of this beer. A great session beer to be enjoyed with friends.

Coppery orange in color with a thinnish head on top.

The rye fills the nose as do the floral hops.

Rye hits right away and it's a very generous portion. The rye is then followed up by lots of piney and bitter hops that continue all the way into the aftertaste. A really tasty combo.

Almost medium bodied and mostly smooth.

Not sure what the abv is, but this would make a nice session for a hophead like myself. A very solid beer for a style that I love- hoppy ryes.
