On-tap at Monks House of Ale Repute, Sioux Falls, SD
A: The beer is jet black in color. It poured with a thin tan collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of licorice are present in the nose.
T: The taste has lots of flavors of dark malts along with hints of whiskey. No bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels full-bodied on the palate and has a touch of warming from the alcohol.
O: This beer isn't as bold or roasty compared to other imperial stouts but does a good job at combining the dark malts with the whiskey. It hides its alcohol rather well.
Serving type: on-tap
