Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – The beer is served a copper color with small just off white head. The head fades rather quickly leaving a lighter level of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is of a roasted malt smell with a moderate amount of a caramel sweetness. Along with these malty and sweet aromas are some smells of a light earthy aroma as well as a little bit of a light fruit aroma.
Taste – The taste begins with a caramel and lightly toasted malt and bready taste. As the taste moves on the caramel gets a bit more potent in flavor with the toasted malt flavor getting stronger as well. As this occurs a lighter hop flavor of a more grassy and herbal nature comes to the tongue taking the taste to its end where a clean and malty taste is left to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer was on the medium side in terms of thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that was average as well. Both are good for the blend of roasted malt and sweet caramel flavors of the brew all while creating a refreshing and easy drinker.
Overall –It has a good blend of roasted malt, caramel and just enough hop to make an easy drinking Oktoberfest beer.
