Much like the local icon it is named for, our version of American Pale Ale has a bold character. We add a healthy dose of hops in both the kettle and the finishing tank.

Taster at brewery. Bright, clear golden, thin, creamy white head, solid lacing. Light bready aroma. Taste is sweet and hoppy, light fruity notes as well.

Got a six pack of this (12 oz bottles) from their stand at the Boalsburg farmers' market, at the height of Covid (summer 2020), when they were bottling it. A real pleasant surprise: not aggressively hopped, but a mellow throwback to the pre IPA era when a pale ale could taste like an ale (and not like a slightly lower ABV IPA). If they're sticking with that, highly recommended.

Just average for me, I do like a bit more depth in my APAs, this one was a bit too mellow for me.

Pretty standard profile for a pale ale, but it is balanced with its flavors & concise with the execution. Lots of golden malt in the body, a little sweet, with a crisp snap of hops that doesn't overwhelm. Some black pepper / all-spice mixed in there as well. Again, nothing revolutionary, but with so many microbreweries popping up all over the place it is still commendable when a small place like this can pull-off a standard with very few flaws.
