On tap at Elk Creek on 1/1/11. From the Elk Creek website: "Combining distinct styles, this delicious Ale features a British malt profile with a Cascade dry-hopping."
A - Clear dark amber, copper-colored liquid with a finger's worth of eggshell, beige-toned creamy froth that dissolved into a thin film, leaving stringy and spotty lace around the glass.
S - Citrus and herbal hop notes as well as a hint of grass mingle with sweet caramel and toffee notes and a lightly toasted grainy malt character.
T - Flavor incorporates a sweet malt base of butterscotch and toffee notes accented by a crisp citrus zing and somewhat sharper herbal, grassy tones. Conculdes with sweet caramel and toasted grains amid a semi-dry Cascade hop finish.
M - Light to medium bodied with a crisp, moderately effervescent mouthfeel and slight syrupy texture. Finishes with a slight dryness and mild hop bitterness on the palate.
D - This great quaffer allows you to celebrate Elk Creek's third anniversary over and over again. This ale is easy to pound and isn't short on flavor, either. I would have had more than one, but Hiary John IPA was on tap!
