Pours a slightly murky orange / gold, initial carbonation fizzes-out quickly, thin head. Aroma has a nice robust German malt, a little fruity ester, mild lager adjunct. body is pretty hefty, good amount of esters (more nutty on the tongue), the German malt bill is well-done. Solid, maybe a little oily & heavy on the tongue, dial-in the esters more and let the malt stand on its own.

An excellent spring bock.
It pours out a lovely caramel copper.
Notes of lager yeast, burnt sugars and soft smoke and toasted grains.
Drinks easy with a low medium body and dry on the finish.
Tones of caramel, earthy hops, honey, cereal sweetness, brown sugar, toasted grains and soft earthy bitterness on the finish.
An enjoyable session spring bock overall. I'm looking forward to more bold bottling choices in the future from Elk Creek, Cheers!

Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – Pours a lightly hazed orange copper color with a tiny white head. The head fades almost instantaneously leaving being only a trace level of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell- The aroma is of a fruity nature with some biscuit malt smells and a little bit of some herbal notes.
Taste – The taste starts with flavors of a biscuit and bread along with a rather strong showing of fruit flavors of an apple and pear nature. With the sweeter fruit flavors so too comes some lighter caramel flavors more toward the beginning of the taste with the caramel transitioning more toward a buttery toffee in the middle and becoming more potent in nature. More toward the end of the taste some hop, mainly of an herbal nature, but some of an earthy nature as well, advance on the taste buds leaving a rather sweet but quite pleasant fruity and smooth flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel- The body of the brew is on the average to just above average side in creaminess and thickness taking on a bit of a chewy nature while the carbonation level is just below average. Both are rather nice for the brew creating a mouth coating feel.
Overall – This was a rather tasty Maibock with some nice sweeter fruit and caramel/toffee flavors with just enough malt and hop to balance it out just right. Even at 8.5 % (although you wouldn't know it) it is a very easy and pleasant drinker.
