Tasted again by a half pint at the Capitol, a JDW pub at Forest Hill, SE London, during the chain's April-May Beerfest. 2007.
A: amber hue, coming w/ a thin foam and low carbonation.
S: Goldings and a touch of spicy and semi-sharp note of floral hops approach first; very lively in hoppyness with a mildly honeyish malt backbone.
T: a profound taste of biscuity malts buttresses a welcomed bitter bite that prevails almost from the start, while the fruity hoppyness and almost zesty-hop aftertaste linger superbly. The hop complexity is good yet all different hops are mixed harmoniously (according to the tasting note, Fuggles, Challenger, and Cascade are used in this brew).
M&D: refreshing and clean in terms of texture and softly-carbonated; the profile shows a balanced bitterness w/ maltiness while the formidable hop bitterness. Overall this is a really decent Golden Bitter and well worth my money!
