L- Mid amber, clear, brief 2mm foam cap that clears to a thin ring.
S- A prominent citrus bouquet.
T- Dry, then sharp almost acidic, then quite a harsh citrus acidity builds. There is some sense of richness but frankly it's overwhelmed. Any sense of this beers 6.1% ABV is also well obscured.
F- Blunt. I took another sip and involuntarily shuddered hard. I took another, not so bad. I think the shock comes if the palate is fresh or has had a chance to normalise. Perhaps don't linger-longer if this isn't quite your thing?
O- From the understated and classy labelling I wasn't expecting a hipster citrus hop-bomb. I confess this style is not my thing and it is my first beer today so it had it's work cut out on me. My palate is adjusting and I will finish it (the 6.1% likely helps). But if loud hipster citrus hopping isn't your thing this might be one to try in the first place.
500ml bottle bought from B+M in Cambridge.
